Plenary Prayer

(Recommended as a prayer to be recited for a month or for 300 days, in reparation for a sin that has been forgiven.)

 Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom his love commits me here, ever this day (or night), be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide.

Heavenly Angel Prayer

Heavenly Father, your infinite love for us has chosen a blessed angel in Heaven and appointed him our guide during this Earthly pilgrimage.  Accept our thanks for so great a blessing.

Grant that we may experience the assistance of our holy protector in all our necessities.

And you, holy, loving angel and guide, watch over us with all the tenderness of your angelic heart.  Keep us always on the way that leads to Heaven, and cease not to pray for us until we have attained our final destiny, eternal salvation.

Then we shall love you for all eternity.  We shall praise and glorify you unceasingly for all the good you have done for us while here on Earth.

Especially be a faithful and watchful protector of our children.  Take our place, and supply what may be wanting to us through human frailty, shortsightedness, or sinful neglect.

Lighten, O you perfect servants of God, our heavy task.  Guide our children that they may become like unto Jesus, may imitate him faithfully, and persevere until they attain eternal life.

Angel of God Prayer

Dear Angel, in his goodness God gave you to me to guide, protect, and enlighten me, and to bring me back to the right way when I go astray.  Encourage me when I am disheartened, and instruct me when I err in my judgment.  Help me to become more Christ-like, and so some day to be accepted into the company of angels and saints in Heaven.

Almighty everlasting God, who in the counsel of your ineffable goodness, has appointed to all the faithful, from their mother’s womb, a special guardian angel for their body and soul, grant that I may so love and honor him whom you have so mercifully given me, that, protected by the bounty of your grace and by his assistance, I may merit to behold with him and all the angelic hosts, the glory of your countenance in the Heavenly country.  Who lives and reigns, world without end,

O Holy Angel to whose care God in his mercy, has committed me, you who assists me in my wants, who consoles me in my afflictions, who supports me when dejected, and who constantly obtains for me new favors, I return you now most sincere and humble thanks, and I conjure you, O amiable guide, to continue still your care: to defend me against my enemies, to remove from me the occasions of sin, to obtain for me a docility to your holy inspirations, to protect me, in particular, at the hour of my death, and then to conduct me to the mansions of eternal repose.

O Holy Guardian Angel, my dear friend and solicitous guide on the dangerous way of life, to you be heartfelt thanks for the numberless benefits which have been granted me through your love and goodness and for the powerful help by which you have preserved me from so many dangers and temptations.  I beg of you, let me further experience your love and your care.  Avert from me all danger, increase in me horror for sin and love for all that is good.  Be a counselor and consoler to me in all the affairs of my life, and when my life draws to a close, conduct my soul through the valley of death into the kingdom of eternal peace, so that in eternity we may together praise God and rejoice in His glory.  Through Jesus Christ our Lord,

Prayer to Our Guardian Angel

O most Holy Angel of God, appointed by him to be my guardian, I give you thanks for all the benefits that you have ever bestowed on me in body and in soul.  I praise and glorify you that you condescend to assist me with such patient fidelity and to defend me against all the assaults of my enemies.  Blessed be the hour in which you were assigned to me to be my guardian, my defender, and my patron.  In acknowledgment of and in return for all your loving ministries to me from my youth up, I offer you the infinitely precious and noble heart of Jesus, and I firmly purpose to obey you henceforward and most faithfully to serve my God.
