First Vision—On The Oright Of Life (5) by Hildegard of Bingen

Both wings rise above the ring and are joined there because the love of God and the love of our neighbor – if they proceed through the divine power of love in the unity of faith and embrace this faith with the greatest longing – cannot be separated as long as the holy Godhead conceals the immeasurable splendor of its glory from human beings and as long as human beings abide in the shadow of death.  For they are bereft of the Heavenly garment they lost through Adam.
